Space Traffic

Embark on a high-stakes cosmic adventure in Space Traffic, where you, a rookie space traffic controller, must decode alien transmissions, make critical decisions, and navigate the perilous skies to grant passage to well-meaning extraterrestrials while avoiding potential threats. Use your joystick to control a laser to pinpoint incoming ships, calibrate frequencies, and master the art of communication with an alien manual. Every decision counts in this immersive alternative controller game that demands focus and precision.

Components

The laser pointer is attached to a cardboard structure with two servo motors, for rotation in two axes. These three components are connected to an Arduino board. The game, built with Unity, takes input from the joystick and sends messages to the Arduino via serial communication to control the rotation of the motors and activation of the laser.

The player has access to a printed instruction manual that teaches them how to play and contains a dictionary of words in the alien language and their translations.

The game is best played with headphones.
